The flat-pack egg rack was designed because I wanted to be able to dry a bunch of empty chicken shells in as little counter space as possible. Realizing the shells would do better if they were elevated and air could circulate, so I used an old cereal box with holes cut out of it. It worked but was such an eyesore, I thought it would be a fun challenge to design something nice to look at that wouldn’t take up much space.

The rack will hold 27 chicken egg shells in a letter-sized footprint. The “feet” are made from the negative space and the pieces slide into the slots. Two extra feet are included. It can be easily stored on a bookshelf when not in use. It can also be used as a display at a craft sale or as a place for eggs to hang out if you work in batches or do group egging around a table.
Please note: this rack is NOT for drying freshly varnished shells!
