Etched Stories #2: Pysanky with Tetiana Konoval - Friday July 18th - 10:00am-12:00pm

Workshop Description:

This workshop will be in Ukrainian using an English translator.

Discover the artistry of internationally recognized pysankarka Tetiana Konoval in this inspiring hands-on workshop. Tetiana will introduce you to her signature “Veseliki” (cranes) designs from Central Ukraine, sharing the rich symbolism and history behind these traditional motifs. You’ll experience her three distinct techniques:

1. Classic pysanky with vibrant traditional colours
2. Traditional designs on a striking white background
3. The dramatic “devoured” pysanky, where vinegar etches delicate patterns into brown eggshells

Each participant will have the opportunity to choose and try one of these unique methods under Tetiana’s expert guidance. The session will feature video slides, interactive games, and additional materials to enrich your learning. As a special thank you, every attendee will receive an exclusive electronic gift from Tetiana at the end of the workshop.

Whether you are new to pysanky or looking to expand your repertoire, this master class promises inspiration and new skills from one of Ukraine’s most distinctive artists.

What to Bring:

  • 1-2 Brown chicken eggs
  • Medium kistky
  • beeswax

Maximum Class Size: 20
