Eggshell Jewelry 101

In this class, we will learn how to create beautiful unique pieces of jewellery.  

I will demonstrate:

• how to arrange your pieces on the shell to maximize useable space as well as how to successfully cut those pieces out.
• I will show you the easiest way to cut out your pieces as well as how to cut smaller eggs in half. 
• We will go over the tools needed, including types of cutting wheels to use and why dust boxes are a necessity. 
• I have recently began using UV resin instead of Ecopoxy and it has sped up the process greatly. I will show you how to successfully coat the fronts and backs of your pieces to achieve a durable finish. 
• I will show you what findings I have used successfully as well as ones that don’t seem to work very well. 

For the hands-on part of this class we will:

• create mosaic pendants out of a broken Pysanka and this will give you a chance to try out the UV resin and see if it’s something you are interested in continuing to do in the future. 

Time permitting I will also demonstrate the process of filling, quail eggs with resin. 

Maximum: 25 students

Cost: $25 CAD per student plus $5 material fee. Please pay cash for this workshop at the registration table Thursday morning.
