#08 - Etched Tree of Life with Ombre Technique - Tetiana Konoval - Tuesday July 21st 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Workshop Summary:

Ukrainian Easter egg artist Zoya Viktoria Stashuk creates stunning pysanky—both traditional and original.

In this workshop, we’ll recreate one of her most intriguing designs: a pysanka that’s divided into sections in an unexpected way and features three main elements:
  1. A family tree with horses
  2. A star
  3. An ornamental band (belt)
Our goal is to repeat this motif on a brown egg using the etching technique.

Design options (you choose your level)

Participants will be offered two reference versions:
  1. A version as close as possible to the original
  2. A simplified version to help you clearly understand the structure and key design principles

How the workshop is taught

The class will be supported with step-by-step video and photos showing the full process in sequence.

What you’ll do in class

Participants will work through these stages:
  1. Practice on a white egg (pencil training)
  2. Apply wax lines to a brown chicken egg
  3. Etch step-by-step in vinegar
  4. Remove the wax to reveal the final design
