Pysanka Eggshell Dyes: For Artistic Use Only (Not for Boiled Eggs Meant for Eating!)
Our pysanky eggshell dyes are specially formulated for egg decorating and art projects. While they’re industrial strength to give you vibrant results, the amount of dye powder in each packet is quite small. With a few simple precautions, you can enjoy your pysanky experience safely and confidently.
Safe Handling Tips:
Avoid getting dye powder in your eyes or on your skin—wearing gloves and eye protection is a good idea.
Try not to breathe in the powder when mixing; an N95 mask is recommended, especially if you’re working with several packets at once.
These dyes are not food grade—please don’t eat them or use them on eggs you plan to eat.
Prepare your dyes away from open food or drinks, and keep them out of reach of children and pets.
For arts and crafts use only.
A Note from the Pros:
Organizations like NIOSH recommend gloves, eye protection, and good ventilation when mixing acid dyes. Once your dyes are mixed, simply wearing gloves is enough for regular use.
