#02 Raised Wax "Tree of Life" - Rosalyn Wyntjes - Tuesday July 21st 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Workshop Summary:

Step into the creative world of raised wax pysanky! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the unique elements of raised wax through colour, lines, and shapes, and discover the magic of transforming a blank egg into a beautiful “Tree of Life” design. Rosalyn will guide you through the basic techniques of the raised wax method, including how to properly prepare your egg, when and how to coat it, and the secrets to making your own wax.

You’ll have the opportunity to choose from three different “Tree of Life” inspired designs, allowing you to personalize your project while learning essential skills. Rosalyn’s workshop is rooted in creativity and practical tips—perfect for anyone curious about this special style, whether you’re new to pysanky or looking to expand your repertoire.

This workshop is a true reflection of our community’s spirit of sharing and support. Rosalyn first discovered raised wax through a class taught by Daena Diduck in Edmonton. Daena, in turn, learned from Karen Hanlon at one of our past retreats—Karen will also be joining us again this year. This wonderful chain of learning and inspiration continues to grow, and we’re excited for you to be part of it.

You’ll leave with new knowledge, inspiration, and a one-of-a-kind egg to treasure.
