Zoya Stashuk "Symbolic Pysanka Motifs" - 2 The Tree of Life and the Goddess-Berehynia

The main purpose of the publication is to show the variety of images of "Tree of Life" and the symbolic sign "Goddess-Beregin" on Ukrainian Easter eggs. The album contains textual information about the meaning of these symbolic characters.

This album "Tree of Life - Goddess-Beregina" from the series "Symbolic Signs in Pysanka Art" consists of 17 separate coloured sheets, containing 510 Easter eggs. Most of them are Zoya Stashuk, author's pysanka, traditional Ukrainian pysanka based on 19th century drawings and the author's competitive pysanka for children-pupils of Easter studios.

The purpose of this publication is the author's attempt to give all those who wish to enter the sacred world of the Ukrainian Easter egg through understanding the mythological basis of symbolic signs, contemplating ancient ornamentations on numerous samples of pysankas included in the album, and the ability to unsubmit their favorite pysankas by their own drawings. The album presents 360 pysanka.

Метою цього видання є спроба автора надати можливість усім охочим увійти до сакрального світу української писанки через осмислення міфологічного підгрунтя символічних знаків, споглядання стародавніх орнаментів на представлених численних зразках писанок, що увійшли до альбому, та можливість самотужки відписати вподобані писанки за наданими схемами креслень. У альбомі представлено 360 писанок із зображенням.
