Eggshell Cleaning Kit Instructions

Egg Blower – Instructions for Use

Blowing out the contents of your egg is much easier now with your Single Hole – Basic Egg Blower. Follow these steps to safely empty and clean your eggshell for pysanky.

What’s Included

  • 1 egg reamer (2 mm x 100 mm, blue handle with gold titanium plating) to make and enlarge the hole
  • 1 single hole egg blower

Step 1: Make the Hole

  1. Use a pencil to lightly mark an “X” where you’d like the hole.
  2. Using the egg reamer, slowly twist back and forth with light pressure to make a small hole in the centre of the “X”, then gently widen the hole as necessary.

Tip: Go slowly and let the tool do the work to avoid cracking the shell, and only make the hole as big as your egg plug.

Step 2: Break Up the Yolk

  1. Insert a straightened paper clip through the hole.
  2. Gently move it around inside to thoroughly break up the yolk and white, being careful not to crack the surrounding shell.

Step 3: Blow Out the Egg

  1. Hold the egg over a bowl or receptacle with the hole facing downward.
  2. Insert the egg blower needle into the hole.
  3. Place your thumb over the hole in the bellows to seal it.
  4. Slowly squeeze the egg blower to push air into the egg.
  5. Remove the needle from the egg to allow the contents to flow out.
  6. Repeat the process (insert → squeeze → remove) until the egg is completely empty.

Love this—your explanation is really clear, it just needs tightening, de-duplicating, and formatting so it’s easy to follow on a card or product page.

Below are two versions you can use:

  1. Short, step‑by‑step “Egg Blower Instructions” (perfect for the card in the kit / product page)
  2. Marketing blurb + “when to blow the egg” note (for the website description)

You can mix and match as you like.

Egg Blower – Instructions for Use

Blowing out the contents of your egg is much easier now with your Single Hole – Basic Egg Blower. Follow these steps to safely empty and clean your eggshell for pysanky.

What’s Included

  • 1 mini screwdriver to puncture a small hole
  • 2 mm x 100 mm egg reamer (blue handle, gold titanium plated) to enlarge the hole
  • 1 single hole egg blower

Step 1: Make the Hole

  1. Use a pencil to lightly mark an “X” where you’d like the hole.
  2. Using the mini hand drill/screwdriver, slowly twist back and forth with light pressure to make a small hole in the centre of the “X”.
  3. If you prefer a larger drain hole, use the egg reamer to gently widen the hole.

Tip: Go slowly and let the tool do the work to avoid cracking the shell.

The air goes to the top of the egg and gently forces the contents out through the hole.

Step 4: Rinse the Inside

You can use the egg blower to rinse the shell so it’s clean and ready for decorating or storage.

  1. Hold the egg under running lukewarm water with the hole facing up.
  2. Squeeze the egg blower while covering the bellows hole with your finger.
  3. Insert the needle back into the egg, then slowly lift your finger off the bellows hole.
    • The air from inside the egg will fill the egg blower and make room for water to enter the egg.
  4. Gently shake the egg so the water rinses the inside.
  5. Turn the egg so the hole faces down over the sink or bowl.
  6. Insert the blower and squeeze to push the water out.
  7. Repeat filling, shaking, and emptying until the water runs clear and the egg is clean.

Step 5: Dry the Egg

  1. Twist a small piece of paper towel into a wick and gently insert it into the hole to help draw out moisture.
  2. Place the egg hole-side down in an egg carton lined with paper towel.
  3. Allow the egg to dry completely (several hours or overnight) before using.

Important: When to Empty the Egg

You can empty the egg before or after decorating:

  • If you empty before decorating:

    • Follow all steps above, then decorate your clean, dry shell as usual.
  • If you prefer to empty the egg after decorating:

    • Always varnish the egg first and let the varnish cure.
    • Then use the egg blower to empty and rinse.
    • If you don’t varnish first, the water can wash the dye off your finished design.

Cleaning and Care of Your Egg Blower

  • After use, rinse the egg blower and needle with warm, soapy water.
  • Pump clean water through the blower several times to remove any residue.
  • Pump out excess water and allow all parts to dry completely before storing.
