14. A Field of Flowers - Carolie Ediger - Friday July 19th - 3:30-5:30pm
In this hands-on class you will learn the process Carolie uses to create her floral inspired eggs. You will be given detailed instruction in how to make your own version of her Field of Flowers egg. She will share ideas of how you can incorporate these free-flowing floral/foliage elements in your designs to provide a rich contrast to geometric patterns.
For success it is recommended that you are already comfortable with etching. You will be provided a handout with thorough explanations of the process and prompts for you to further your own development of designing with horticulture elements.
Items that you will need to bring:
An egg dyed someshade of tan—not a dark brown. You may use a nice tan/med brown chicken egg. If you use a goose egg, I recommend that it be sanded smooth.
Have the egg dividedinto four vertical sections and a horizontal line drawn about 2/3 the way down towards the bottom of the egg.
A fine pencil (0.2 or 0.3mm works well)… and an eraser
Your preferred tools for measuring.
If you have Jennifer Kwong’s Endless Egging book, please bring it to use the paper strip charts in it, but it is not required.
A kistka with a fairly fine tip, but not the super finest. You will need to be able to write some detailed lines, but they will need to be able to withstand some etching.
Cost: $30 CAD
Minimum is 15-26
